Teaching materials: Materials provided to the students will serve as the basis for teaching.

IT 01 –  Italian – Beginners (A1) – Week-Long Intensive Course 

Course Content: The course is designed for full-time students. Pronunciation rules, basic grammatical phenomena (name system, verb system, articles, prepositions, etc.) and simple conversational topics are discussed in relation to real-life situations (introductions, family, food, etc.)

Course Objective: Graduates of the course will have gained correct pronunciation and will be able to read texts in simple Italian. They will also be able to communicate well enough to be able to handle basic life situations, make new acquaintances using Italian, and hold a basic conversation on common topics, as well as easily describe or express their opinions, wishes and needs.

Grammar: alphabet, pronunciation of consonants, double consonants, length of vowels, accent, gender, plural of nouns, plural of adjectives, definite article, indefinite article, regular verbs in present tense, irregular verbs essere, avere, fare, prepositions, pronouns, basic numerals

Topics: greetings, introductions, personal details, description of persons, family, food, work

Note: It is also possible to attend other courses offered in the three weeks of the summer school, either before or after this course.

IT 02 – Italian – Beginners/Pre-Intermediate (A1-A2) – Week-Long Intensive Course

Course Content: The course is designed for false beginners and intermediate students. Basic grammatical phenomena (irregular verbs, prepositions with articles, past tense, etc.) and conversational topics are discussed in relation to real-life situations (hobby, city, shopping, travelling, eating, etc.).

Course Objective: Course graduates will be able to read simple Italian texts with limited vocabulary and manage basic life situations in Italian. They will be able to converse on topics related to themselves without much difficulty and hold a basic conversation on common topics, as well describe or recount events in a simple manner, express their opinions, wishes and needs.

Grammar: prepositions local, prepositions temporal, prepositions with article, irregular verbs, reflexive verbs, past tense passato prossimo, past tense imperfetto, numerals higher, time indications.

Topics: leisure, daily activities, city, shopping, travel, eating out.

Dates: 20.7. – 24.7.2026

IT 03 – Italian – Pre-Intermediate (A2) – Week-Long Intensive Course

Course Content: The course is designed for pre-intermediate students and covers intermediate-level grammatical phenomena (double-object pronouns, past tenses, the imperative using the form of address) and conversational topics relating to real-life situations (work, business, culture, lifestyle, etc.).

Course Objective: Graduates will be able to read pre-intermediate Italian texts with vocabulary that is appropriate for this level. They will be able to communicate in a wide range of life situations and express themselves when discussing less common topics without much difficulty, holding conversations on common topics as well as academic/professional discussions in their fields of interest. Graduates will be able to recount and describe events using a wide range of tenses and expressions, as well as express their opinions, wishes and needs in a friendly and courteous manner.

Grammar: past tenses passato – imperfetto – trapassato, subjunctive mood, future tense, regular and irregular orders, direct pronouns, indirect pronouns

Topics: culture, fashion, shopping, lifestyle

 

Minimum Entry Level: A2.
