Unless otherwise stated, the following information applies to all of our children´s language courses:

Price for a one-week course: CZK 4,890

Price for a two-week course: CZK 7,990

EN 010 – Active Day Camp with English (Ages 6–11)

The programme is tailored to the children’s language level and age. Emphasis is placed on language games and the practical use of English. The daily schedule includes language lessons, hiking, sports activities, and art and science projects, led by Czech teachers.

The course is based at the UWB campus, where each day begins with English lessons. Afterwards, children go on trips or walks in the area surrounding the campus. English instruction continues throughout these trips, walks, sports, and art activities in the form of games.

Lunch is provided in the university canteen or as a packed lunch on trip days. Meals are not included in the course fee. Payment for lunches ordered for the full duration of the course is made in cash on the first day of the course or can be paid through the course registration form. The price of a child’s lunch (soup, main course, and a 200 ml drink) is CZK 98.

The aim of the course is not only to learn English, but also to enjoy relaxing summer days outside the regular school environment.

EN 011 – English for Teenagers (Ages 12–14)

Course content: At an age- and level-appropriate stage, participants will consolidate language areas (vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and language functions), skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing), and strengthen their communication abilities. The afternoon programme integrates art, music, sports, and discovery activities with English language elements; participants work on a project on a set topic in collaboration with native speakers from the TEFL programme. Students are placed in groups according to their language level.

Course objective: Participants will understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to everyday areas of life (for example, basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, and employment). They will be able to communicate in simple, routine tasks requiring a straightforward exchange of information on familiar matters.

Lessons are organized in thematic units reflecting the students’ interests.

 

Instructors: Qualified Czech teaching staff and qualified native speakers 

Number of lessons: 33 lessons per week (including leisure activities in English)

EN 012 – English for Teenagers (Ages 15–17)

FR 05 – French for Teenagers (Ages 12–16) – one-week course

Course contentsThe course is designed for young people aged 12 to 16 with basic knowledge of French (A1), according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Participants can expect a week full of games, fun, and varied activities in French. The course develops language skills in a natural way through guided creative activities and games. It focuses primarily on listening comprehension and speaking skills. Vocabulary and topics are tailored to the participants’ interests and basic communication needs.

Course objectives: The aim is to spark interest in French and deepen communication skills through activities and games in a Francophone environment.

Grammar and lexis: Grammatical and lexical features are introduced and reinforced through language games and activities using authentic and guided materials. Content corresponds to A1 level of the CEFR.

Topics: Topics and corresponding vocabulary are based on the participants’ interests and tailored to their language needs, enabling them to communicate on everyday subjects (for example, family, hobbies, home, food, and storytelling) both during the course and in an authentic Francophone environment.

Course materials:

  • Authentic materials (recordings, texts, and visuals) and other teaching materials and aids provided by instructors.

Minimum entry level: Knowledge of French at A1 level (CEFR).
