Course name: French – Intermediate (A1) – Week-long Intensive Course
Course Content: The course is designed for undergraduate students with an A1 entry level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Grammatically, attention is paid primarily to the comparison of meaning and the use of basic past and future tenses, pronouns and the subjunctive mood. Vocabulary and conversation topics follow naturally from the grammar topics that are being taught and are focused on everyday life situations.
Course Objective: The aim of the course is to prepare students for the A2 level according to the CEFR. The graduates will have improved their linguistic responses to everyday life situations in French and will be able to express themselves at an appropriate level when answering common, as well as more complex, questions. They will be able to express their opinions. Graduates will also have acquired a better understanding of the narrative in stories and will be better oriented in the press.

Teaching materials:
Authentic and didactic materials (recordings, texts, pictorial material) provided by the teachers.
Grammar:
Grammar covered will include the differences in the use of basic past tenses (passé composé, imparfait and plus-que-parfait), different ways of expressing the future, direct and indirect objects, the creation of meaning and the use of the subjunctive (le subjonctif).
Topics:
Common life situations, work, school and leisure time in France compared to life in our country, reporting events that have taken place, projects and plans for the future.
